PROLOGUE

In many ways, I had been intrigued by the mysterious forest revealing a realm unknown. That is where I had found the harp, gold and alluring, I never thought of what harm it could ever do. I was wrong. I never thought something with such delusion could ever be real; but the world was uncovered, a bitter sweet truth that would be found and yet to regret.

CHAPTER ONE

I walked down the frigid pathway, feet crunching over the crisp autumn leaves. The bright orange and reds danced around in the cool breeze, leaving me glancing all around with wonder and amuse.

“Find it,” as if the wind had whispered.

Maybe I was imagining it, but something deep down told me it was true.

The birds soared their way through the skies as a sense of guidance, chirping my name over and over, “Aubrey, Aubrey, Aubrey,” like a hymn.

I walked further down the vast forest, and soon enough I was in a clearing. The woodland pulled back revealing a calm serene river. I picked up a stone and threw it roughly, while it landed near a glistening object. Creeping closer, I identified it as a harp.

Sitting down gracefully, I lift it up cradling it in my arms ever-so-gently tempted to play it. I grasped onto the strings plucking them slightly as a harmony poured out.

A stronger wind picked up swaying my raven black hair in the air. It was as if a strange force had pulled me into an eternal, spellbound abyss. The harp glowed furiously as my vision dazed, drawing me to the last bit of air I had left.
